Greek-Polish Innovation Forum on the Occasion of the Official Visit by the President of the Republic of Poland to Athens

A Greek-Polish Innovation Forum under the title "Green Innovative Technologies: A Powerful Tool for Cooperation," was organized in Athens to coincide with the official visit to Greece by the President of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Andrzej Duda. The forum, held on 21 November from 14:00 to 18:00, at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, was jointly organized by Enterprise Greece, the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, the Commercial Department of the Embassy of the Polish Republic in Athens, and the Polish Ministry of Development.
 
The aim of the Forum was to highlight the investment opportunities of the two countries and to broaden bilateral relations in the field of green technology, development, and innovation. Mr. Elias Athanasiou, CEO of Enterprise Greece, and Mr. Tomasz Pisula, CEO of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, welcomed the invited Greek and Polish businessmen. Mr. Athanasiou, in his address, referred to the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries and the need to broaden the trade relations of the two countries in the field of green energy.

The keynote speaker of the Forum was the President of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Andrzej Duda, who praised the warm relations between the two countries and pointed out the desirability of further strengthening Greek-Polish economic relations. The Minister of Economy and Development, Mr. Dimitri Papadimitriou, pointed out that Poland is an important partner for Greece and that existing bilateral relations can be further developed in various areas of mutual interest.

Cooperation protocols were signed between Mr. Elias Athanasiou, CEO of Enterprise Greece, and Mr. Tomasz Pisula, CEO of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, with a view to strengthening the economic relations between the two countries, as well as between Mr. Emmanouil Panagiotakis, President of the Greek Public Power Corporation, and Mr. Zbigniew Palenica, Vice President of the Polish Solaris Bus and Coach Company.

During the second session of the forum, the Solaris business plan was discussed, and Enterprise Greece and the Polish Investment and Trade Agency made presentations, focusing on the investment opportunities in the two countries. The Hellenic Association of Photovoltaic Companies and the relevant Directorate of the Polish Ministry of the Environment focused their presentations on the prospects for developing further bilateral cooperation in the green technology sector.

The Forum closed with B2B meetings between Greek companies and Polish companies, members of the Polish business delegation, involved in the green technology and shipbuilding sectors.
