Vinexpo Bordeaux 2017
Enterprise Greece and eight outstanding Greek winemakers, as part of the effort to strengthen the promotion of Greek wines: one of the most important export products of the Greek economy, made a particularly strong showing at the 19th Vinexpo Bordeaux exhibition, a leading wine and spirits trade fair held in France, 18-21 June 2017.
Vinexpo is held every two years at the Bordeaux-Lac Exhibition Centre in Bordeaux, France. It is regarded as one of the most significant exhibitions in the wine world and attracts preeminent and highly experienced industry leaders from around the world. This year 48,000 visitors from 42 countries attended Vinexpo to meet 2,350 exhibitors from 151 countries.
Participating wineries present at the Greek pavilion were Cavino Wineries, Domaine Costa Lazaridi, Domaine Sigalas, Estate Argyros, Estate Papaioannou, Greek Wine Cellars, Kir-Yianni, and Tsantali Vineyards, with company representatives from each focusing on new business partnerships and expanding their export activities.
The Enterprise Greece national pavilion, strategically located near the main entrance of the exhibition, was the first wine-tasting stop of visitors entering the exhibition. The free wine tasting area of the stand served as an attraction for thousands of visitors, giving them the opportunity to taste some of the most important labels of the Greek vineyards.
With their participation and the support of Enterprise Greece, the Greek exhibitors held many business meetings and expressed their satisfaction with the quality of the business contacts they made. Among the noteworthy visitors to the Greek stand was a group of distinguished visitors organized by the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who were offered a guided wine tasting by the sommelier of the Greek stand, Mrs. Marianna Makrigianni.
