A dynamic Greek presence at HOMI Fashion & Jewels - MICAM Milano exhibitions

Athens, 10 October 2023 | Fifty Greek companies participated at the HOMI Fashion & Jewels and MICAM Milano international trade fairs last month underscoring the growing recognition of Greek designers and creative industries abroad.
More than 42,000 people from 129 countries attended the two exhibitions, representing a 21% increase from a year earlier. The Greek presence at the fairs was organized by Enterprise Greece, which sees the events as a key opportunity to promote Greek design to a world audience.
The HOMI Fashion & Jewels exhibit, took place September 15-18 at the Fiera Milano fairground in Italy’s fashion capital, and serves as a gathering place for designers, merchants and other experts in the fashion and jewelry industries. This year's exhibition drew 562 exhibitors from the garment, accessory, and jewelry sectors from around the world.
The MICAM Milano exhibition, held September 17-20, also at the Fiera Milano fairground, is regarded as one of the world’s best shows for the footwear industry, and this year drew 1,024 participating companies for the 95th edition of the event.
At both shows, representatives of Greek companies had the chance to engage in B2B meetings with experts from the fashion sector and establish vital contacts.
The growing presence of Greek exhibitors at the HOMI Fashion & Jewels and MICAM Milano exhibitions supports Enterprise Greece's decision to prioritize high-value international trade fairs, which remain one of the most important tools for promoting the extroversion of Greek companies and supporting their efforts to penetrate overseas markets. As a result, Enterprise Greece intends to sponsor Greek participation in the next edition of the shows, which will take place in February 2024.
“Greek fashion and jewelry companies excel in international markets because of their quality and innovation,” said Betty Alexandropoulou, Executive Director and Member of the Board of Enterprise Greece. “Drawing inspiration from culture and history, Greek entrepreneurs develop handmade items, stressing quality and environmentally friendly materials, and are gaining international recognition, despite fierce competition.”
