Intersolar Europe 2022 – Promoting Greek investment opportunities, RES technologies

Athens, 23 May 2022 | Enterprise Greece participated in Intersolar Europe 2022, the world’s leading exhibition for the solar industry, to showcase growing investment opportunities in Greece and Greek companies specializing in renewable energy technologies.
Under the motto: “Connecting solar business”, the conference and exhibition was held in Munich from 10 to 13 May 2022 after a two-year hiatus due to COVID, and brought together manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, service providers, and project planners and developers from around the world, to discuss the latest developments and trends, explore innovations firsthand and meet potential new customers.
In total, 1,356 exhibitors from 46 countries participated, while more than 65,000 professionals from 149 countries visited the exhibition, an increase of 33% compared to 2019. The Greek national pavilion, organized by Enterprise Greece, hosted nine (9) Greek companies, which promoted their innovative products and services.
Concurrently, representatives of Enterprise Greece held 23 business meetings providing information on Greece’s comparative advantages, recent regulatory and sectoral developments, and the country’s investment opportunities in the energy sector. It was an opportunity to highlight the country’s geostrategic position as a regional energy hub, attracting international investment interest in new RES investments.
The energy sector is one of the key sectors that Greece has set as a priority, especially in the current circumstances, with rising energy prices, as a result of the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine. Energy security and independence are at the top of the European and national agendas, which are focused on renewable energy sources. Greece has abundant natural advantages for the use of RES technologies, which are emerging as a significant alternative to the country’s dependence on fossil fuels.
Intersolar Europe 2022 focused on innovative solutions related to a sustainable and environmentally friendly energy and transport industry, new technologies to support the use of renewable energy sources, digitization and sector pairing, smart and connected energy systems, while special emphasis was placed on storage and combining RES solutions to accelerate the transition from fossil fuels.
