Workshop for Investments on Thermal Springs

Enterprise Greece, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Development, and with the support of the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (TAIPED) and the German Embassy in Athens, will conduct the Investors’ Workshop – Development of Thermal Springs in Greece, on Monday, February 26, 2018, from 9:00 am until 5:30 pm, at the amphitheater of the Acropolis Museum.

The main theme of the workshop will be the development of thermal springs in Greece. The agenda for the workshop is as follows:

• The institutional framework and strategy for health & wellness tourism
• The potential for development of thermal springs
• The contribution of regional and local authorities to the development of thermal springs
• Business opportunities in the field of health & wellness tourism – The Greek and the international experience

The aim of the event is to highlight the investment potential of thermal springs in Greece and the development of health & wellness tourism.

At the workshop, Enterprise Greece, TAIPED and others will make presentations on the development potential of thermal springs through a series of four seminars. The seminars will examine upcoming privatizations, the role of local and regional governments in the development of health & wellness tourism and the international experience, with an emphasis on the development of European spa resorts (see Event Agenda).

Also speaking at the workshop will be Minister of Tourism Elena Kountoura, Deputy Minister of Economy and Development Stergios Pitsiorlas, Secretary General for the Environment and Energy Christina Baritaki, German Ambassador Jens Plötner, and Secretary General for Tourism Policy and Development George Tziallas. Also attending will be Grigorios Sampanis, board member of EOPYY (National Health Service), as well as a representative from the Ministry of Health.
