Athens, 02 May 2024 | Greece was the honored country at the International Wine and Beverage Exhibition, Vinitaly 2024, held in Verona, Italy from 14 to 17 April 2024, with the participation of more than 4,000 winemakers from Italy and other European countries.

At the national stand organized by Enterprise Greece, a free tasting area operated under the guidance of well-known Greek sommeliers. Thousands of visitors had the opportunity to sample more than 50 labels from 42 winemakers across Greece. The wines of the Peloponnese, represented by the Peloponnese Vineyard Wine Producers' Association (ENOAP) and renowned winemaker Ktima Skouras, also had a significant presence.

The support of the Office of Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Embassy of Greece in Rome was invaluable. Through coordinated efforts, they secured the status of honored country (Partner Country) for Greece, laying the groundwork for a successful national participation after many years.

The national participation was honored by the presence of the Minister of Rural Development, Mr. Lefteris Avgenakis; his Italian counterpart, Mr. Francesco Lollobrigida; the Ambassador of Greece in Rome, Mrs. Eleni Sourani; and the head of the Embassy's EI Office, Mr. Panagiotis Zarakas, EI General Counsel II.
