Greece's winegrowers are opening up a fascinating world of flavours with their wines, which is guaranteed to hold exciting new discoveries in store for representatives from the trade, gastronomy and press. Whether crisp white wines with high minerality and lively acidity, velvety and elegant red wines that can also be combined well with food, or deep and expressive red wines with great ageing potential - the new generation of Greek wines is inspiring far beyond the wine scene. This is reflected in the enlarged, joint Greek presence at the most important wine fair at a new location in Hall 17.

A thematically organized tasting zone (Hall 17 B130) that will give newcomers a good start and at the same time will offer added value for connoisseurs of Greek wine expert Grigoris Michalios and his team will be on hand to answer questions and provide explanations. More than 100 wines can be tasted there and will provide an excellent overview of the country’s grape varieties, trends and wine styles.

For even more comprehensive insights into Greece’s fascinating world of wine, the range of seminars at the Enterprise Greece joint stand has also been significatly expanded, this year.

Into the newly created Seminar Area (Hall 17 B114), two Masters of Wine, Caro Maurer and Demetri Walters, will present a total of nine seminars. four each on Sunday and Monday, and another on Tuesday. The spectrum ranges from the superstars Assyrtiko and Xinomavro to the new generation of Retsina and other discoveries of indigenous grape varieties – from the Peloponnese, Crete or nothern Greece, aromatic or red grape varieties.
